Restaurant Exterior Maintenance Guide

The exterior maintenance protocol every restaurant operator should be running — and most aren't.

Restaurant exteriors accumulate grime faster than any other commercial property type. Grease-laden vent air, foot traffic, cigarette debris, spilled beverages, and grease from delivery trucks all conspire to create a surface that looks tired within days of a full cleaning.

The weekly rotation

Weekly service on high-volume restaurants covers the storefront glass (DI water, streak-free), the sidewalk within a 10-foot radius of the entrance, and the outdoor seating area during operating months.

The monthly rotation

Monthly cleaning covers the awning (soft wash, cleaning solution dwell, low-pressure rinse), the dumpster corral pad and gate, and any vent hood grease staining on adjacent walls.

The quarterly reset

Every quarter, we run a full pressure wash of the sidewalk, an anti-graffiti sacrificial coating renewal on the lower brick facade, and a deep clean of the ventilation cowls and rooftop grease traps (via a separate specialist).
